Gov. Agbu Kefas and Students

The governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, has launched a free education system from primary to secondary schools in his state.

The governor said this when he visited Ebenezer Primary School in Wukari on Friday.

According to him, from the next academic session, primary and secondary schools in Taraba State will be free (school fees are no longer paid).

He also stressed that it is the right of the government to take responsibility for the entire school, so students should not have to pay any fees.

He said that, apart from fulfilling the promise of the election campaign, the difficulties involved in removing fuel subsidies made it necessary to take action.

In the past, the governor reduced the income of universities by 50 percent in order to reduce the hardships the country is going through.

Many of the students at the University expressed their happiness with this development, saying that the reduction of fees will improve their lives.
