Suspected Bandits Kill Two Brothers in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna

Two brothers were killed by gunmen suspected of being bandits in Gajere village, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

According to authorities, the tragedy occurred on Friday morning when the victims were working on their farms.

Sagir Umar, a resident in the region who confirmed the occurrence to Daily Trust, voiced significant concern about the bandits' increased activity.

Mr Umar revealed that the bandits had kidnapped at least ten villagers in the last two weeks.

He claimed that the roving gunmen have caused chaos in the town by kidnapping innocent residents and taking their cattle.

Yahaya Musa, a member of the state house of assembly representing the Kakangi constituency, also verified the latest homicide.

The legislator conveyed his condolences to the victims and their families, as well as his anguish over the catastrophe.

He further said that two additional farmers were abducted by robbers on Thursday while working on their farms in Gwanda Mai Gyada village.

He, on the other hand, praised the continuing security activities along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway.

The bandits were spotted in the Kutemeshi area, Tabanni, Kuyello, and Dogon Dawa villages, according to him.

When reached, Mohammed Jalige, the state police public relations officer, offered to call back once more information about the incident was obtained.

As of the time of submitting this report, he had yet to fulfill the pledge.
