Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has reinstated Sani Sambo, the former Executive Chairman of the state Internal Revenue Service.

The reinstatement of the KIRS leader, who was earlier sacked by the state's former governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, over corruption charges, was announced on Friday by the governor's Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Tofa, after the suspension was lifted.

He is a fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Taxation and has 20 years of expertise in tax administration. He is currently a senior manager of Tax Audit at the Federal Inland Revenue Services in Abuja.

The governor expressed trust in Dambo and emphasized the necessity of building an open and responsible government.

He said, “We believe that Alhaji Sani Abdulkadir Dambo is the right person to lead the Kano Internal Revenue Service. His vast experience and expertise in tax administration will contribute significantly to our ongoing efforts to improve revenue generation and enhance the overall economic development of the state.”
