Rev. Fr. Anthony Adikwu, a priest for the Otukpo Diocese, has been kidnapped by gunmen who are believed to be kidnappers.

In the Benue State local government area of Ohimini, the Rev. Father serves as the parish priest of St. Margaret's Parish in Ajegbe Awume.

A witness who only gave his name as Oche informed The Punch Newspaper correspondent that a group of gunmen broke into the Awume neighborhood about 10 p.m. and headed directly for the church, where they abducted the priest.

“Yesterday (Thursday) night at 10 p.m., some gunmen stormed Ajegbe Awume, Ohimini Benue State, the kidnappers went straight to the church premises and kidnapped the Rev. Father in Charge of St. Margaret Parish.” – He said.

SP Catherine Anene, the public relations officer for the Benue State Command, confirmed the event when reached.

SP Anene said, “The information got to us this morning (Friday), and we are working on it.”
