The Kano state government has ordered people who have shops and plazas built on government land that they bought from the former government to ensure they have removed their goods and vacate the buildings before the demolition.

The government gave the order in a statement issued by its Secretary, Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, on Thursday this week.

Through the announcement, the government has informed all the vendors in shops built beside or in schools, cemeteries, hospitals, mosques, or on the side of Badala, ministry grounds, sports fields, and other government-owned parks that they should immediately vacate all their goods in the stores in these places without wasting time.

The newly inaugurated governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commenced the demolition of shops and plazas that he claims were built illegally on government lands.
