It was no longer a hearsay story that the prominent Kano-based APC singers, Dauda Kahutu Rarara and Baban Chinedu, would be paid by politicians from state funds or federal government funds after their houses were looted and set ablaze by thugs in Kano after the gubernatorial election.
Following the political attacks launched by some thugs in Kano State on March 20 during the gubernatorial election held in the state, Governor Masari of Katsina State has agreed and awarded 80 million naira to those two musicians.
This comes less than a week before the governor will hand over the Katsina state ruling to his successor, Dikko Radda.
In a document obtained by Channels Television titled "Release of Special Funds," signed by Saminu Soli, the Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, the fund was used for their musicians. found a different place to live for their families after the attack.

The special document to the Accountant General of the State Ministry of Finance shows that 50 million naira have been approved for Dauda Rarara and the remaining 30 million naira for Baba Chinedu.
"I have been directed to approve the release of (N80,000,000.00) to the Accountant General to be paid to the Secretary to the State Government, Governor KTSG's support to Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi Rarara and Baba Chinedu to have their houses replaced as a result of the attack by thieves on Monday, March 20, 2023, in Kano as follows:
"Alhaji Dauda Adamu Abdullahi (Rarara), N50,000,000.00, Baban Chinedu, N30,000,000. A total of N80,000,000.00. The charge lot is 022000700100/22040109," says part of the letter.
A document dated May 5, 2023, with ref: S/MBEP/BD/REC/FA/23/VOL.I/1044 is copied to the Katsina State Government Secretary, SSG (GO), HC (MOF), the auditor general, the office of the state auditor, and the director general of the Ministry of Finance.
