Two female APC leaders from Kaduna State have been abducted by gunmen who are believed to be bandits. 

According to reports, the victims were abducted on their way home from Governor Uba Sani's inauguration on Monday along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway. 

According to the Daily Trust's interview with Ishaq Usman, the head of Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), the incident happened in the Manini region of the highway.

He stated that on Tuesday, the bandits blocked the highway and abducted the victims and several other travelers.

The two female politicians were identified as Lami Awarware, the APC women's leader in Birnin Gwari, and Haulatu Aliyu, Awarware's aide.
