Ministers have begun handing over to permanent secretaries in their ministries five days before President Muhammadu Buhari's tenure ends, according to the Daily Trust.

President Buhari's eight-year term, which began on May 29, 2015, will finish on Monday, May 29, 2023.

Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, completed his final official job last week when he inaugurated the Blockchain committee in Abuja.

According to a ministry employee, Pantami's aides were seen taking some of their principal's paperwork and possessions out of his office on Monday.

Meanwhile, Mallam Muhammad Bello, the FCT minister, has ordered the demolition of the renowned UTC market in Area 10, as well as houses in Gishiri and other locations.

According to the Daily Trust, the minister was still coming to the office and attending official events.

He was alleged to have directed the Task Force on City Sanitation to clear stores at the UTC market and to conduct a thorough clearing operation at Gishiri, a community adjacent to the popular Nicon Junction.

He revealed last week that the Federal Executive Council had approved contracts worth billions of naira for the Federal Capital Territory.

Our correspondent spotted the minister leaving his Life Camp apartment in the morning to attend a special FEC meeting at the Presidential Villa.
